The Mind Strand

The overall purpose of the mind strand is to help you to develop the capacity to take more complex and accurate perspectives of reality and expand the mental framework you use to organize those perspectives.

Adults have the ability to grow into more complex perspectives, although many don’t. Just knowing about these different perspectives helps to increase the opportunity for development.  Learning about and practicing these more complex perspectives in a supportive environment with other interested people helps to solidify these new developmental stages.

Just as climbing a mountain or viewing the terrain from an airplane allows us to see patterns and relationships that elude us at ground level, our more complex worldviews allow us to take in and hold more information in a way that adds to our ability to make sense of our world.

An interesting paradox of this process is that as you increase your ability to take more complex perspectives, the easier your life tends to become. The “drama” factor drops radically.

You will learn an integral framework into which these multiple perspectives can fit and make sense. Learning and practicing an integral framework will develop tools for dealing with situations and people in ways that are richer, more effective, and satisfying.

An integral framework provides a place for everything in your life.  For example, rather than having science or spirituality in your life, you have a place for both with equal validity.  Views that seemed contradictory before now can be integrated into a bigger picture.  You have a sense of wholeness where nothing is left out.
